And this collection of instruments including horns, trumpets, trombones, cimbasso and tuba excels at this task, following your imagination – as loud and upfront or as subdued as you like, never limiting your expressive possibilities in any way. So when you want to cut through the densest mix with a wall of brass or want to lightly swing with the best – prepare to be blown away.

Extremely expressive by nature, brass instruments are known for attention-grabbing signature playing techniques like flutter tonguing, volume swells, embellished stabs, vibrato and legato. It’s these miniscule intricacies that make all the difference in creating a life-like virtual instrument but also make brass sections challenging to capture. Our experienced team balanced and matched all dynamic levels for seamless transitions and smooth velocity crossfades, so that it’s breeze for you to focus on creating and playing, with results on par with the real thing.

As an alternative and addition to velocity crossfades, the Synchron Player offers the Timbre Adjust feature that comes in particularly handy with brass instruments as they are capable of creating subtle volume and timbre variations. This new intelligent filter lets you apply dynamic changes while staying in one velocity layer. It can also be used to create articulation variants that have only one velocity layer (such as sforzatissimo) or to prevent velocity crossfade artifacts that may occur with brass solo instruments.
